Follow the main steps for planning, creating, validating, and starting a customer journey.
Before you start
- Prepare a journey brief with objective, audience, entry event, expected volume, messages, data, timing, exits, and owner.
- Ensure every referenced message, audience, event type, and integration is available in the target environment.
Procedure
- Create the campaign automation and give it a durable internal name and description.
- Add the entry state and define eligibility, re-entry, and initial data handling.
- Add actions, waits, decisions, messages, and exits; connect every valid route.
- Configure goals, conversions, monitoring, and failure handling.
- Test representative profiles and events in a controlled stage.
- Complete approval, activate the campaign, and monitor the first executions closely.
Verify and operate
- Verify paths for missing data, late events, duplicate events, and recipients already active in the journey.
- Confirm behavior when an attached message or external dependency is unavailable.
- Document how the journey is paused, stopped, changed, and retired.
Note
Exact UI labels, availability, and behavior can depend on the Elaine.io release, licensed capabilities, permissions, and project configuration.
